The promised Kingdom of God arrived in the ministry of Jesus the Messiah, commencing with his baptism – Mark 1:1-3. The  Gospel of Mark opens with a declaration combining passages from the Hebrew Bible, thereby providing the scriptural basis for the ministry of John the Baptist and setting the stage for Christ’s mission. Mark begins on a note of fulfillment . The Man from Nazareth was the Messiah of Israel, the “ Good News which God promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures ” - (Romans 1:1).

With the outpouring of the Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, the blessings for all nations promised to Abraham commenced . The Apostle Paul calls the Gift of the Spirit the “ Promise of the Father ” which he links to the Abrahamic covenant. The promises to Abraham and “ his Seed ” find their fulfillment in the New Covenant inaugurated by the Death and Resurrection of Jesus.

Forgiveness links the call of the tax collector to the healing of the paralytic – Christ’s authority to discharge sins and restore men – Mark 2:13-17. When Jesus pronounced the paralytic’s sins “ forgiven ,” he offended the Scribes and Pharisees. He alienated them further by showing mercy to “ sinners ” considered especially unacceptable by more scrupulously religious Jews. Seeing Jesus eating with “ tax collectors ” and “ sinners ,” the Scribes and Pharisees insinuated that the Nazarene also was a notorious sinner – (Mark 2:1-17).

Уместно ли прибегать к гневу или возмездию, или нам следует следовать примерам из жизни Иисуса? В своих учениях он предупреждал нас о необходимости ожидать “ скорби ” и призывал следовать его путем (“ Если они преследовали меня, то будут преследовать и вас ”).

When we react to hostility with hostility and anger, Satan wins . The reality of persecution raises questions. How should we respond when attacked by the State, the culture, society, or even our family and friends? Is resorting to anger or retaliation appropriate, or should we emulate examples from the life of Jesus? In his teachings, he warned us to expect “ tribulation ,” and he summoned us to follow his path (“ If they persecuted me, so they will persecute you ”).

Иисус призвал своих учеников возвестить Благую весть о Его Царстве во всех населенных уголках Земли . Евангелие Иисуса Христа не направлено на реформирование общества или правительств. Его послание призывает всех людей покаяться и присоединиться к радикально новому общественному порядку и политической реальности - Царству Божьему . Его послание противоречит политическим идеологиям нынешнего мирового порядка. Мы должны положительно откликнуться на его приглашение, поскольку приближается конец эпохи, когда существующая система исчезнет с лица планеты.
