The Spirit of God descended on Jesus, equipping him for his Messianic mission. He baptizes his followers in the Holy Spirit and Fire . John proclaim ed   a baptism in water  “ for the remission of sins ,” and  he  announce d  the arrival of  the  “ Coming One .”  John was the Forerunner sent before  the  Messiah as promised in the  Book of Isaiah  -  “ Behold,  I send my messenger before  your  face, to prepare your way … .” Jesus is the King of Israel who baptizes his people “ in Spirit and Fire .”

Ο Ιωάννης ο Βαπτιστής προετοίμασε τον δρόμο για την άφιξη του Μεσσία, τον κήρυκα των καλών νέων της Βασιλείας του Θεού - Μάρκος 1:4-8. Και οι τέσσερις αφηγήσεις του Ευαγγελίου εφαρμόζουν το ίδιο απόσπασμα από το βιβλίο του Ησαΐα στον Ιωάννη τον Βαπτιστή, τον αγγελιοφόρο που κάλεσε τους ανθρώπους να μετανοήσουν “ για την άφεση των αμαρτιών ” για την προετοιμασία της άφιξης του Μεσσία στο Ισραήλ. Ο Ιωάννης προσδιορίζεται ως ο πρόδρομος που αναμένεται πριν από την “ ημέρα του Κυρίου ” - “ η φωνή ενός που κλαίει, στην έρημο, ετοιμάστε την οδό του Κυρίου ” - (Ησαΐας 40:3-5).

John the Baptist prepared the way for the Messiah, the herald of the Good News of the Kingdom of God  – Mark 1:4-8. All four gospel accounts apply the same passage from the  Book of Isaiah  to John the Baptist, the messenger who called all Israel to repent in preparation for the Messiah’s arrival. The  quotation identifies John as the forerunner who was expected before “ the day of the LORD ”:

Иисус - единственный истинный Светоч Мира, и его свет сияет еще ярче среди тьмы, царящей в наше время. Все конкурирующие утверждения ложны . “ Жизнь ” содержится в “ Слове ” или ‘ Логосе ’ (Λογος), и эта жизнь есть “ Свет людей ”. Свет “ сияет во тьме ”, и тьма “ не может захватить ” или подавить его. Это же самое “ Слово ” стало Живым Словом Божьим в Иисусе из Назарета, в котором слава, спасение и жизнь Божья явлены для всеобщего обозрения - (Иоанна 1:1).

Центральное место в надежде апостольской веры занимает будущее телесное воскресение мертвых, которое основано на прошлом воскресении Иисуса . Библейская вера ориентирована на будущее. Учение о спасении включает в себя грядущее воскресение мертвых, которое также ознаменует приход Нового Творения. Новый Завет связывает это грядущее воскресение с двумя событиями: телесным воскресением Иисуса и его “ пришествием ”, или ‘ Парусия ’ (‘ Parousia ’ - παροσια). Наше спасение будет оставаться незавершенным до тех пор, пока Христос не вернется и не воскресит нас из мертвых.

Central to the hope of the Apostolic Faith is the future bodily resurrection of the dead, which is based on the past resurrection of Jesus . The biblical faith is focused on the future. The doctrine of salvation includes the future resurrection of the dead, which will also mark the arrival of the New Creation. The New Testament links this coming resurrection to two events: The past Resurrection of Jesus, and his “arrival” or ‘ Parousia ’ at the end of the present age. Our salvation will remain incomplete until Christ returns and raises us from the dead.
